Are you currently accepting reservations?

Where are you located?

Our address is 7039 Route 28, Shandaken NY 12480. We are in the heart of New York’s Catskill Mountains and approximately two hours from New York City. Our property has a 30 acre island with trails and is convenient to Phoenicia and its renowned Phoenicia Diner (5 minutes), Belleayre Mountain (14 minutes), Hunter Mountain (25 minutes), Town of Woodstock (25 minutes), Tannersville (27 minutes), and Kaaterskill Falls (34 minutes).

What is the best way to get to your hotel and around the Catskills?

Guests can travel to The Copperhood via car or bus. We recommend traveling with a car, as taxi service in the Catskills is limited. If you require a taxi for any portion of your stay, we recommend making reservations in advance with Kingston Kabs: (845) 331-8294 or Woodstock Transportation: (845) 679-7766.

Trailways can drop you off right in front of the Copperhood Spa. You can buy a ticket to Allaben and remind your driver that you are going to the Copperhood Spa. Trailways also has drops offs and pickups daily in Phoenicia and more frequently in Kingston, which would need to be followed by a 5 or 30 minute taxi ride. Please visit www.trailways.com

Do I need a car to get around?

We recommend traveling with a car, as taxi service in the Catskills is limited. If you require a taxi for any portion of your stay, we recommend making reservations in advance with Kingston Kabs: (845) 331-8294 or Woodstock Transportation: (845) 679-7766.

Are you dog friendly?

We welcome your well-behaved furry friends in select Mountain View King rooms and 2 Bedroom Mountain Suites. We welcome up to 2 dogs in designated rooms. Please make sure to book a dog friendly room and let us know in advance if your pet(s) will be joining so we may prepare your room accordingly.

Do you allow children?

Yes, children are welcome to stay with us. Unfortunately we don’t have any full sized cribs available, but you are welcome to bring a “pack-and-play” crib and any supplies you may need for your little ones. We can provide a keypad combination to our pool & spa buildings so children can’t access the pool areas unsupervised. Please reach out with any concerns and we’d be happy to make accommodations.

What is included in the cost of the room?

Access to the indoor pool, hot tub, dry sauna, steam room, fitness center, and yoga studio are included as well. Fitness classes and spa treatments, including massages and private yoga and Pilates sessions, are offered at additional cost.

What meals do you serve in your restaurant?

We do not serve meals but your group is welcome to use our commercial kitchen or bring your own food and sit in the dining room and on our terrace tables throughout the day. We can also arrange for catering or a private chef.

Is access to the indoor pool and fitness center included in our stay?

Yes! Our mountain facing indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center are open year-round. Access to these facilities is included in your stay. Fitness classes and spa treatments, including private yoga and Pilates sessions, are offered at additional cost.

What spa treatments do you offer?

Our full list of spa treatments can be found on our spa page. Please inquire prior to your stay if you would like to book a treatment.

Is the spa open to non-hotel guests?

The spa is not currently open to non-hotel guests.

What outdoor activities do you have for guests?

Cross over the footbridge into our 32-acre private island facing the mountains located in our backyard. In the winter months, go for a snow shoe walk. We can provide snowshoes and poles, free of charge. Just bring your weather proof or insulated shoes to strap into the snow shoes.

In the warmer months, enjoy the outdoor tennis court, hiking trails, and fly fishing in the Esopus Creek. We can arrange a fly fishing guide and equipment or hiking guide in advance!

What other activities are offered nearby? Are you near the ski mountains?

We’re a 14 minute drive from Belleayre Mountain and 25 minute drive from Hunter Mountain. Both mountains offer year-round activities, like hiking, downhill skiing and snowboarding, and cross-country skiing. Ask us for our recommended hiking trails throughout the region.

What are your local dining recommendations?

There is a varied selection of fantastic dining options nearby. Email us for a list of recommended restaurants! 

Do you have WIFI at the property?

We have the fastest WiFi in the Catskills! We set up a dedicated fiber-optic cable line directly to the hotel available throughout main building public areas and guest rooms. We have gigabit download speeds.

We encourage you to relax and disconnect in nature, but with our WiFi you'll still be able to stream and text. Each room is set up with cable TV, but feel free to bring your own smart device to hook up in your room.
